The announcing trailer of the Kotor remake was removed from YouTube, and PlayStation removed all the mention of a remake from its social networks
It is no secret that the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, announced back in 2021, is going through not the best times. According to reports, the game experienced several problems with the development, as well as the studio change, and the General Director of Embracer Group Lars Wingefors is evading answers to questions about the current state of the game, which does not inspire confidence in fans.
There is such a feeling as if another nail scored in the lid of the coffin of the game: the fans of the game noticed that the official announcing trailer, loaded on YouTube back in 2021, disappeared. If the trailer can still be found among those who posted it on their own, then the first official trailer published by PlayStation was apparently removed from the base, which is not a good sign for the game, which is in the development and support of the publisher, who is trying to make up for the missed expenses.
The situation is even more aggravated by the fact that, apparently, PlayStation itself also attempted to remove all the mentions of the Knights of the Old Republic remake from her official account on Twitter. Fans noticed that the tweets with the mention of the game, which were caching in Google and displayed on Wayback Machine, were removed recently. This is not entirely typical for the owner of the platform, confident as a game.
PlayStation officially hidden in YouTube the announcing trailer for the game 2021 Star War: Knights of the Old Republic. The trailer can be seen in the full version of the PlayStation Showcase 2021, but a separate trailer was removed.
According to fans, these events lead to the fact that the game will ultimately be canceled. Earlier this year, it became known that the publisher of Embracer at the last moment missed a deal in the amount of 2 billion. dollars that forced the company to curtail projects, close the studios, in particular, the Volition studio, which created Saints Row, think about the sale of other studios such as Gearbox, and to dismiss potentially thousands of employees.
Given the number of problems with the development of the game, as well as the financial difficulties of the publisher, you should not be surprised if the next under the knife comes the Knights of the Old Republic remake. After all, there are still no signs that the release of the game will take place in the near future, and the games that are in development as long as this, as a rule, cost a lot of money.
Let’s hope that this is not so, since the game had to become a remake for a long time, and the abolition of a project of such a scale is likely to have catastrophic consequences for developers such as Saber Interactive and Aspyr Media. But so far everything does not look in the best way, and Embracer needs to report fresh news on the game as soon as possible.
