Microsoft and Relic Entertainment announced the first paid extension for Age of Empires IV last month during Gamescom. However, with the exception of a three-three-three pair, the exact details of the upcoming content have not been disclosed to today. Expansion of Age of Empires IV: The Saltans asceend now has a launch date in November and will include completely new civilizations, a fresh campaign, maps and much more.

The new single -user campaign The Saltans asceend will join the four main branches already available in the basic game. This one will be devoted to conflicts in the Middle East during the European Crusades. Since the 11th century, players will have to take on the role of Muslim resistance in eight missions:

Muslim provinces were mired in rivalry with each other. Crusaders use this and breaking through the coast of the Levant, capturing large cities and capturing Jerusalem, which leads to their control over most of the Holy Land. Players have to fight against the sacred orders of the Templars, hospitals and Germans, as well as against their old enemies – the Mongols.

Relic reported that this is the first campaign in Age of Empires IV, which also offers sea battles, which will be represented along with new heroes, abilities and mechanics.

After numerous teasers, the studio also confirmed that the Japanese and Byzantines are completely new game civilizations that appeared in the strategic game in real time. Being the two most popular game fractions in a multi -user game and skirmishes, Japan will present special synobi detachments for combat espionage, and Byzantines will be able to build new infrastructure buildings and hiring mercenaries.

The fractions of the Abbasids, China, France and the Holy Roman Empire from the basic game will also receive “rethought options” with expansion. It will offer alternative heroes, units and strategies for use in a multiplayer game. Finally, 10 new cards and two new biomes are also included in the expansion package – Japanese Spring and Savannah.

Age of Empires IV: The Saltans ascend will be released on PC, Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One November 14.
